Bucket Service
You Scoop. The Crew Collects.
Bucket Service is a small year-round side service for people who prefer to scoop their own yard. The Scoop Crew gives you a five-gallon bucket and changes out the bags inside each week.

What This Service Covers
How the small side service for people who scoop their own yard works.
- 01
Your Part
You scoop and put the waste in the five-gallon bucket.
- 02
The Crew's Part
Each week the crew changes out the bags in the bucket. This is not a full yard-scooping visit.
- 03
Collection Day
Ask where the crew would like the bucket left on collection day.
Need the Crew to Scoop Instead?
Bucket Service covers pickup of the waste you scoop. For the crew to clean the yard, read about Residential Service.

How It Works
Splitting the Job Between You and the Crew
Your Part
The crew gives you a five-gallon bucket. You scoop the yard on your own schedule and put the waste in it. If you pick up daily, each pass stays short and the yard does not get far behind. Waste left for days is harder to pick up and smells more.
The Crew's Part
Each week the crew comes by and changes out the two bags in the bucket. They do not walk or scoop the yard on a Bucket Service stop. That is Residential Service, a different service.
Year-Round and Separate
Bucket Service is a small side service that runs all year on its own. You do not need a Residential Service plan to use it.
Year-round collection keeps going through the colder months, when scooping can feel like more of a chore. If you travel, arrange for someone to scoop while you are gone, or ask the crew about a one-time residential cleanup when you get back.
Getting Set Up
When you sign up, ask what the crew needs from you: where the bucket should be on collection day and what can go in it. If you have other pets, ask before adding anything other than dog waste, such as cat litter.
Make sure everyone who scoops knows where the bucket is and what goes in it, including kids who help out and dog sitters.
Is It Right for You
When Bucket Service Makes Sense
A Good Fit If
Bucket Service tends to suit households where:
- You already scoop, and the problem is where the waste goes afterward
- You would rather not keep dog waste in the household trash between pickups
- The yard is easy enough to scoop yourself
- You like keeping the yard clear on your own timing
- Your dogs are happier with you in the yard than with visitors
- You have a dog or two and a yard you can walk in a few minutes
Full Service May Fit Better
If scooping is the chore you want gone, or there are more dogs than you can keep up with, Residential Service is the better match. The crew does the walking and the pickup.
If you start with one and later want the other, ask the crew about switching.
Catching up First
If the yard has got ahead of you, a one-time residential cleanup can reset it before you go back to scooping yourself. Ask the crew whether that makes sense for your yard.
What It Does Not Include
Bucket Service is not a yard visit, a yard check or an odor treatment. If you want any of those, look at Residential Service, and ask about deodorizing as an add-on to it.
Comparing the Cost
Prices are not listed in the text of this site. Use the quote form, or ask the crew, to compare Bucket Service with Residential Service at your address.
Shared Homes
In a duplex or a home with a shared yard, agree on who scoops and who uses the bucket before you sign up. Agree, too, on where the bucket lives between collections.
Day to Day
Making Your Part Easier
Scooping Tips
A long-handled scooper, or a rake and pan, saves your back. Scooping at the same time each day turns it into a habit. Check along fences and under shrubs, where waste is easy to miss.
Keep bags or a lined pan by the back door, so a quick scoop does not start with a trip to the garage.
Where the Bucket Sits
Ask the crew where to leave the bucket on collection day, such as by the driveway or a side gate. Between collections, keep it where dogs cannot knock it over.
To keep smell down between pickups, keep the bucket covered, out of direct sun where you can, and away from doors and windows.
Collection Day
The crew changes out the bags each week. With several dogs, scoop little and often so the bucket does not fill before collection day, and ask the crew what to do if it does.
Questions to Ask the Crew
Before your first collection, ask:
- Is Bucket Service available at my address?
- Where should the bucket be on collection day?
- What can go in the bucket, and what should stay out?
- What should I do if the bucket fills up before collection?
- Do you supply the bags as well as the bucket?
