About Piedmont
The Mill Village at Garrison Shoals
Native Americans and early settlers knew this stretch of river as the Big Shoals of the Saluda. Around 1850 David Garrison built a grist mill beside the shoals, and the place became known as Garrison Shoals.
Henry Pinckney Hammett organized the Piedmont Manufacturing Company in 1873, and Piedmont No. 1 began running in 1876 with 5,000 spindles and 112 looms. In the 1880s it became the first mill to export cloth to China. So many of its managers went on to run mills across the South that Piedmont earned the name School of Superintendents.
The river also splits Piedmont between Anderson and Greenville counties. A footbridge built over the dam in 1888 linked the mills on each side until a flood took it in 2020. Piedmont No. 1 was named a National Historic Landmark in 1978 and burned in 1983.

Coverage
Why the Exact Address Matters
A City Name Is a Starting Point
Piedmont is on The Scoop Crew's service list, but visits are planned around routes, not city names. Two addresses in the same area may not have the same schedule options.
Twice-weekly visits are the clearest example, since only some addresses can have them. Check before you settle on a frequency or tell the family the yard will be taken care of.
This applies across the whole service area, not only Piedmont. The city list tells you where to start. Your address gives the real answer.
Two Ways to Check
The quote form on the home page starts by asking for your ZIP code, so you can begin without calling anyone. Once you have a price, you sign up in our customer portal.
If you would rather talk it through, call (864) 533-4256 or email info@thescoopcrew.com. Include your street address, the number of dogs and the service you have in mind so the crew can look at your exact address.
Whichever way you begin, have the full street address ready. The ZIP code is the first step, and the street address is what the crew needs to confirm service. Write it the way it appears on your mail.
Contact the CrewIf the Answer Isn't What You Hoped
The schedule you wanted may not be available at your address. Ask which frequencies are, and whether another option, such as a one-time cleanup or Bucket Service, could cover you in the meantime.
Keep the conversation open with the crew instead of guessing from a map. Coverage is decided address by address, and the crew can tell you what applies to yours.
If you move, check again. Coverage at one address doesn't carry over to another, even a few streets away.
Access
Getting Into the Yard
Gates and Locks
Once the address is confirmed, think about how the crew will get in. Is the gate latched, padlocked or fitted with a code? Is there a side gate that is easier to reach than the front? Tell the crew before the first visit.
If the gate has to stay closed to keep the dogs in, say so. It is the kind of detail that is easy to forget and matters on every visit.
If the gate uses a code or a padlock, ask how the crew would like to receive the details, and let them know when it changes. A note about a gate that sticks or a loose board helps as well.
Dogs and the Service Area
Decide where the dogs will be during a visit and which parts of the yard are included. A fenced back yard, a side run and a front strip are separate areas, and the crew needs to know which ones you mean.
Then pick the service. Recurring scooping runs twice weekly, weekly, biweekly or monthly, with monthly limited to one dog and a yard of up to 1/8 acre. You can also ask for a one-time cleanup, Bucket Service, or deodorizing as an add-on to scooping.
Tell the crew how your dogs react to visitors, too. That helps them plan the visit around the dogs rather than finding out at the gate.
If part of the yard is off-limits during the visit, such as a garden bed or a corner used for storage, mention it as well.
Properties and Common Areas
Property managers and HOAs face the same question about the exact site. Before discussing a plan, share the property address and which common areas or pet waste stations you have in mind.
Commercial Service covers installing and maintaining pet waste stations, including new bags, new waste liners and cleaning around each station, and scooping dog parks and common areas. Access matters here too, so mention locked gates or areas residents can't reach.
For a property in or near Piedmont, the order is the same as for a home. Confirm that the exact site is covered, then talk through the plan.
